Seibu Railways released a 25-minute full episode of Chichibu de Buchichi, an original anime short to promote tourism around Chichibu-city in Saitama Prefecture, on its official YouTube channel today on March 30. The protagonist Kaoruko Seibu is voiced by 21-year-old popular anime voice actress Tomoyo Kurosawa (Otome Arisugawa in Aikatsu!, Kumiko Oumae in Sound! Euphonium), who was born in the city in 1996. The cast also includes: Daisuke Ono, Mugihito, Yuki Ono, Kazuyuki Okitsu, and Ryotaro Okiayu

  Shizutaka Sugahara (D-Frag!, RIN-NE) serves as director on a screenplay by Yaku Kishimoto (Hailyu!!, ERASED). TMS Entertainment works on anime production.

  Story synopsis:

Kaoruko is set to meet a marriage partner... but there's a person she can't forget. Someone she met

Chichibu when she was a girl. A young boy whose name she doesn't even know. Treasured memories

of walking with him through Chichibu Shrine. Taking in the carpets of pink flowers at Hitsujiyama Park,

the mountain stream at Nagatoro, the sea of clouds from Mitsumine Shrine. These are priceless moments

she yearns to relive. Maybe... just maybe... if she heads to Chichibu she might see him again. Clinging

to her faint hope and distant memories, Kaoruko resolves to find out.

Seibu Railways Waxes Nostalgic in "Chichibu de Buchichi" Anime Short

  Seibu Railways is teaming up with TMS Entertainment for Chichibu de Buchichi, an original short animation that promotes tourism in the scenic spots around Chichibu City in Saitama Prefecture. The short is directed by Shizutaka Sugahara and features a script by Taku Kishimoto as well as the voice talents of Tomoyo Kurosawa, Daisuke Ono, Yūki Ono, Kazuyuki Okitsu, and Ryōtarō Okiayu.

    The story of Chichibi de Buchichi follows Karuko, a young woman who is scheduled to have an arranged marriage meeting. However, Karuko can't forget a fateful encounter that she had with a young man in Chichibu many years ago, and she believes that if she returns to visit the scenes of their pleasant memories together, that the two of them will surely be reunited...

  Chichibu de Buchichi is approximately 20 minutes in length and will be published in March of 2018.
